Thursday dawned overcast and a bit damp so after calling in at Rock and Wadebridge for some supplies we headed off to Lanhydrock, a National Trust Property inland just the other side of Bodmin. A beautiful house dating back to 1640 giving some facinating glimpses into life of the landed gentry and their servants! There was an enormous kitchen with s spit for roasting that looked as though it would take a large pig if not an ox! If that as not enough there was also a scullery, bakery, dry larder, fish larder, meat larder, dairy and dairy scullery!
As can be seen from the photos, the weather cleared up whilst we were there so it was off home for a somewhat belated lunch and then yes, you guessed it, down to the beach for a bit more body boarding.
And to round off an excellent day, a barbecue on the beach with pork and chilli, pork tomatoe and basil and pork and mixed herb sausages! All washed down with some Cornish Doom Bar beer and Cornish Pilsner lager accompanied by some gorgeous evening sunshine.
