Hockey Weekend

Last weekend was the last of the hockey season for Isobel's team with their final two fixtures.  Both matches were down in the Central Belt with Glasgow on Saturday and Edinburgh on Sunday.  At the start of the weekend they were in with a chance of finishing third in the league but the results did not go their way , losing to GHK 4-1 on the Saturday (GHK won the league so no disgrace there).  Sunday was in Edinburgh against Inverleith, the team lying third in the league who they hoped to displace but a 2-1 defeat meant they stayed 5th overall in the league, still a strong result for the season and still above local rivals AAM Merlins.

Isobel's Jazz Band Concert

Last night was Isobels jazz band's annual concert at the Craig Performing Arts Centre.  Some of the tunes you may recognise from previous concerts.  Isobel was playing baritone saxophone and is sat second in from the right hand side.  As ever, a definite proud dad moment with some fantastic talent on show, definitely a bit jealous as her band plays more fun tunes than mine!

Ramstone Garden

Thought I had better get a few photos of the garden before the snow arrives and frosts all the flowers! Couldn't resist a photo of our resident woodpecker.

Easter Sunday

Nice to see our teenagers do not consider themselves too old for an Easter Egg hunt, fiendishly set by their mother!  A series of letters secreted around the garden, each with a mini-egg then made an anagram that had to be solved to give the whereabouts of the full size eggs!  The whereabouts of the mini-eggs was given by a very detailed close up photo.

The rhododendrons are starting to come out and so far none of the early ones have been frosted.

The wild flowers in the field also starting to look good,, along with a few escapee pulmonarias from the garden!
