Carn an t-Sagairt Mor

Isobel and I decided to have a day out in the hills before she heads off to university in a weeks time.  We went up to Braemar and walked up Glen Callater to Loch Callater and then up to the summit of  Carn an t-Sagairt Mor. Enjoyed the wildlife with loads of Grouse and some Ptarmigan and a mountain hare up towards the summit.  Isobel was intent on stepping on frogs on the way down!

Called in to Braemar Mountain Sports for a bowl of soup on the way home.

Sunday Sailing

Great day sailing with Isobel up at Peterhead. Champagne sailing conditions,, sunshine and a nice breeze to go with it.  Had 3 races for the Helmsmans Trophy and came away with 3 wins so all in all a good day out!

Beinn Mhor and an Evening Kayak

Thursday started somewhat dreich, but at least dry, well for a while anyway!  We decided to have a family walk up local hill Beinn Mhor which gives gorgeous views across to Mull, down to Scarba and north to Kerera and Loch Feochan.  We just got to the summit and were headed down when the skies opened so just went straight down rather than down the usual circuit.

Sound of Kerera

Thankfully the rain dried up in the early evening and Isobel and I headed out for an evening Kayak round Eileen Tournal in Balvicar Bay.

An Cala

Enjoyed a walk round An Cala Garden at Ellenabeich on Tuesday, Grandma's favourite garden.  Was looking gorgeous as ever and managed to avoid the worst of the showers.

Trip to Luing

Cycled over to Luing on Thursday and had coffee at the Atlantic Isles Centre, wonderful lemon cake.

Friday was rather wet so what else do you do on a wet day but bake! Isobel created some macaroons with a raspberry cream filling and some vanilla cup cakes also with a raspberry cream filling, delicious and unbelievably light.
