Isobel was playing hockey for the school twice last week. On Wednesday they were playing Hutchisons Academy from Glasgow in the semi-final of Scottish Schools Plate cometition. They won 1-0 with Isobel being player of the match having kept a clean sheet despite constant pressure.
Unfortunately yesterdays matches at the national finals of the Scottish Schools Indoor Hockey Champs did not go so well. They had four matches and lost all four, 2-0 and 3-0 were the results in the matches Isobel was keeping goal for.
Ellie meanwhile had ski training at Alford as yet another week goes by without enough snow. Ironically it was sleeting and snowing at the dry slope during training leading to a lot of cold wet skiers.

Sunday 22nd January
Back to business as usual after the Xmas break.........well almost! Unfortunately there is pretty minimal snow up at the Lecht so snow training was cancelled and moved to the dry slope at Alford. A frosty morning meant that the mat was running fast and the car park was lethal!
Meanwhile at home Julie was on Marmalade production, two batched, one normal, one whisky! Happy days! Looking forward to doing a little quality control at breakfast tomorrow.

Walk up round Beinn Mhor
Parked at head of Loch Seil and then took the track up past the standing stone and then on up to the shoulder of Beinn Mhor before heading off up Right to the summit of Beinn Mhor. Fabulous views across to Mull and down to Clachan Sound.
Then came back down to the track and followed the loop round to Clachan and back to Loch Seil along the road.

For some strange reason Ellie decided to start doing yoga poses as we passed any little pinnacles....very strange girl!

Thursday Sunset
Whilst I was away working at home on Thursday the girls went for a walk on Seil from the T&T pub, along the top to the Ardencale road and then back along the shore to Puilladobhrain. They then went along to Seaview for the sunset, Isobel got some cracking photos with her new camera.
New Years Day Cycle at Ardfern
New Years Day was stunning so Julie, Ellie and I headed down to Ardfern for a cycle along to the old steamer pier at the end of the Craignish peninsula. The views at the point were as good as ever with stunning views up the Sound of Luing to Mull, across to Scarba and down to Jura.
