Sunday In Cornwall

Woke up to a fairly drizzly overcast morning however the forecast was for it to clear up about lunchtime so after a lazy morning we headed off to the south coast at 12 and went for a walk around the Trelissick estate, the weather clearing up as promised.  Spotted this wonderful carving of an old man on a bench by the King Harry Ferry.

From there we went round to Lo beach for a picnic lunch and the  walked from Mylor Bridge round to Mylor for ice cream, the orange and muscarpone was particularly good!  Spotted a few nice yachts in the marina, Ellie and I quite took a liking to the Discovery 55 that was tied up! After that it was round to Restronguet sailing club where Ben Ainslie started out.

The evening was Sarah's birthday meal out so it was round to Port Isaac to Nathan Outlaw's Outlaws Fish Kitchen.  Fabulous food, It is a bit like Tappas only with fish, you just get lots of taster plates between you and try out all the different options on the menu.  The Baked Hake with Pickled Beetroot, Orange Creme Freche and olive oinl dressing went down particularly well although the breaded plaice, marinated tomatoes and red pepper ketchup with string potatoes was felt to come a close second as far as Ellie was concerned!
