Saturday Kayaking

Fine sunny day on Saturday so kayaked up to the Bridge over the Atlantic and then when we got back Ellie insisted on swimming and jumping in! Personally I stayed firmly in my kayak in my nice warm dry suit!  Even had a very close encounter with an otter on the way up to the bridge, watched him fishing in the sound and then he surfaced in the sea weed at the side of us, eating a fish, just magical.

In the evening we had a trip in to Piazza in Oban and Ellie truly found happiness........in the form of a Strawberry Sundae!

Fabulous sunny evening last night so after supper Isobel decided to head out for a sail in her Pico.

Crinan

Fabulous hot sunny day here on the west coast so we loaded up the bikes and headed down to Crinan for a cycle along the towpath down to Ardrishaig and back, 17 miles all told.  Fuelled up at the coffee shop in the basin with fruit scones for us and a bacon roll for Ellie and then rounded it off with ice creams when we got back.

Evening Kayaking and Swimming

Yesterday was results day, so what better way to celebrate than to head to the chocolate factory in Oban!

Ellie's Belgian Waffles!
It turned into a lovely day so we headed over to Tralee beach for a walk and then when we got home the girls went for a kayak/swim on the high tide.  I just watched from a safe distance in the dinghy!

I always knew Ellie Walked on Water!

And after all that, what better way to celebrate than with freshly baked cake and champagne on the patio.

Calgary Bay

Thursday last week was supposed to be spent sailing in the Mull races at West Highland Week but because the boat had to head north for a charter Isobel and I were left with a spare day on Mull so we headed over to the west side of Mull and Calgary bay where we went beach combing and then had a walk along to the old quay.

Arduaine Gardens

Had a walk round Arduaine Gardens on Saturday, managed to avoid the showers and enjoyed lunch sat on the sundeck at the Loch Melfort Hotel with stunning views.

A few late rhododendrons in flower and some fabulous hydrangeas.
