Walk from Seaview to Cuan

This morning was a fabulous cold clear morning with the odd shower around.  We went for a walk from Seaview to Cuan along the shore and then back along the top of the hill.  Fabulous clear views across to the snow covered hills of Mull and along the north coast of Jura to Islay in the distance.  We went with our neighbours the Warnocks and their two boys Callum and Grigor.

Ski Prep and Boxing Day Walk

Ski prep was first job on the list this morning!  I am pleased to say that Ellie did not sleep in her POC helmet last night, although it was a close thing!  In the end decided not to ski as Glencoe described conditions as Combat Skiing on the only run they had open, hoping Nevis Range may have more on offer tomorrow.

This was followed by a family walk from the T&T , over the top of the hill to the Ardencaple road then back along the coast to Puiladobhrain and back to the T&T.

Xmas Cake

Just a couple of pics of Isobel's Christmas Cake, looks traditional enough on the outside but on the inside is lurking a wonderful lemon curd spongecake!

A little Isobel mouse got to it before I could take the photo, but I guess she did bake it!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all family and friends.  Never let it be said we are not a safety orientated family whether it be skiing or hockey, we have the headgear!

A beautiful sunny day in Argyll

And a young lady very happy in her new ski racing suit!

Merry Christmas!

Xmas Eve at Piazza

Xmas Eve saw our traditional trip to Piazza on the pier in Oban, food as ever, fab!

Christmas Is Coming

It always feels like Christmas is here when the girls Christmas concert arrives and this year was no exception.  Ellie was not performing this year however Isobel made up for that by performing in both Intermediate Concert Band  above and also Senior Concert Band below.  Needless to say there was a pair of somewhat proud parents!

Sunday saw Ellie in action at the Gordon Skiers.  It was the last Sunday of the dry slope season and featured the Xmas races, which included quite a few of her colleagues skiing in Onesies!  Ellie was particularly proud to receive the award for the most improved skier of the last year in recognition of the hard work and commitment she has shown in her skiing this season.  I for one am not looking forward to trying to keep up with her!

Ellie's Skiing

Ellies skiing continues to improve.  She had training at Alford last Sunday and then was down in Glasgow for the Scottish Schools Skier Cross at the indoor slope at Braehead representing the Robert Gordons B Team.  She did well, completing two clean runs with no missed gates and managed to take 12 seconds off her first run time on her second run.

Here are a few photos from last weeks training and from Glasgow.

Hockey Saturday

After Black Friday comes Hockey Saturday!

Seriously busy day for Isobel today, started with push back at 08.30 at Countesswells with 3 matches in the inter-house hockey tournament on the outdoor pitches.  This was followed by a brief rest at home and then back into Aberdeen for 3 indoor matches playing for her club Hazelhead in the indoor league at RGU.  She plays for both Hazelhead firsts and seconds as they only have one goalkeeper........Isobel!

Best not to mention the results though!

Here are a few photos.
