Walk to Ardmaddy

Yesterday was just fantastic weather,, the West Coast at its best.  We walked over to our neighbors at Ardmaddy and enjoyed a walk round the garden with some fantastic autumn colours and late summer flowers followed by a stroll down to the harbour.

Isobel's Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

Last weekend was Isobel's gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition, she started off from Dalwhinnie , canoeing up Loch Ericht to Ben Alder Cottage and then coming over the saddle to the Culra Bothy, taking in Beinn Bheoil on the way and then finally walking back out to Dalwhinnie for the pick up.  They were blessed with the most fantastic weather, high pressure leading to some cold nights but gorgeous days with sunshine and light winds and most importantly, too cold for the midges to be biting!

Evening Kayak

Went for an evening kayak up to the Bridge over the Atlantic with Isobel and boyfriend Dean this evening.  Unfortunately the sun went down just as we were setting off.

Cycling On Luing

Headed over to Luing on the bikes today.  Was very much a case of dodging the showers, something that we managed really well until the heavens opened just as we got back to the ferry.

Started off with a trip to the Atlantic Isles Centre for some refreshment, couldn't decide between the carrot cake and the lemon polenta cake so we each had carrot cake then shared the lemon polenta cake.

It was then off to Blackmill Bay and the old steamer pier.

Then popped over to Toberonachy to the old slate harbour there before heading back to the ferry.  25 miles all told, not bad on the mountain bikes.

Walk Round Arduaine

Was a somewhat damp morning this morning so went down to Arduaine Gardens at Kilmelford for a walk.  Some fantastic autumn colour and a surprising array of late flowers as well.  And to cap it all the rain held off.

Even managed a wee selfie with Isobel, she was on the controls I hasten to add, not me!  Afterwards it was round to the Craftie Kitchen in Ardfern for lunch and then went down to Craignish point.
